  Senior Electrical Engineer - APNT Hardware (Onsite)

  At Collins Aerospace, our Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Systems organization is a growing business area in need of a qualified electrical engineer to support development and factory transition of state-of-the-art navigation products for the Government marketplace. The ideal candidate shall have a well-rounded background; one that has demonstrated experience or training in multiple aspects of electrical engineering such as RF, digital, FPGA, and analog design. This is an individual contributor role in which the engineer is part of a cohesive team of engineers responsible for developing key subsystems  for the PNT product lines. 

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design for new products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met.

  Troubleshoots electrical devices problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently.

  Resolves day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption.

  Participates in technical preparations for new product development and implementation to ensure new products meet the required specifications.

  Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.

  Completes drawing designs as required to facilitate the engineering process.

  Confers with engineers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders on existing and potential engineering projects or products.

  Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic components.

  Participates in design and requirements reviews as the hardware subject matter expert.

  Basic Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  Must be a U.S. Citizen

  Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

  Preferred Qualifications:

  A digital design background with some RF experience

  Experience in GPS receiver design

  Accountability and leadership qualities

  Strong oral and written communication skills

  Ability to multitask small and large projects

  Desire to work in a multi-discipline team environment

  The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
