  About the Opportunity

  Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.

  Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

  The Sizewell C Project requires a number of Senior Project Managers (and Project Managers) to manage the end to end delivery (EPCC: Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning) of a scope of Systems, Structures and Components (SSCs), ensuring that their scope is delivered Safely, to Quality, on Time and within Cost parameters for their respective contracts/scope.

  Reporting to the Site Delivery Lead, this post is responsible for the direction & leadership of activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of the area assigned to them. You will have responsibility to lead/manage a group of Senior Project Managers and Managers (>30 at peak), to ensure delivery of a large scope of Highways, Rail infrastructure, Civils and Networks. The Senior Project Manager will have to manage a matrix team of other disciplines forming the project delivery team eg: the SZC supply chain team, the SZC quality team and suppliers. Key responsibilities:

  Define the work scope to be delivered within the contracts or packages of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.

  Securing the required resources to meet their project requirements, ensuring the maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team.

  Developing and executing effective execution strategies and plans in line with the overall Programme Execution Plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised and executed.

  Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and execute the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work.

  Drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business and technical requirements.

  Monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.

  Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contact or package. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues.

  Here’s What You’ll Need:

  Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction or other related field.

  Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.

  Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either; APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2.

  Can demonstrate experience of managing project through the project lifecycle from concept to handover.

  Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled.

  Understand how to apply a graded approach to quality.

  Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders.

  Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation.

  Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools.

  Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment. Including NEC and FIDIC contracts.

  Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.

  Detailed understanding of EPR design and experience.
