Description
The Senior Engineer will lead the creation and development of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) design models and assessment packs. Design responsibility will cover new projects, alterations and redevelopments and will serve Mission Critical projects as well as (but not limited to); power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, military facilities etc.
The engineer with be responsible for managing project resource and project completion planning as well as QA and interfascing with the engineering teams
The engineer will be based in the UKO. However, their time will be split between UK and US project work with a priority towards serving UK projects.
Lead CFD analysis of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
Applies expert knowledge of commonly used CFD concepts, practices, and procedures within the CFD services industry.
Applies knowledge and experience to complex projects, find non-standard design solutions.
Quality review production CFD models for a variety of projects and project related data as required by the project managers to verify corrections are made within multiple CFD and CAD related software.
Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
Participate sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.
Responsible for QA/QC process development and adherence
Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
Forcast project CFD resourcing in relation to scoping documentation and track project profitability
Managing program deadlines
Review of Engineering team design information pertaining to CFD analyis detail modelling requirements and mitigations
Generating, maintaining and managing IP
Ensuring internal knowledge sharing between UK and US offices
Advice on modelling information exchange and needby dates
Wind speed and weather probability analysis
Feed into CFD business growth and development
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program. Master's level is preferred.
Minimum 7 years related professional experience in CFD analysis.
Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to fluid and thermal analysis of building thermal management systems, external flow modeling of buildings and cooling towers, clean room spaces, and various other fluid systems.
Experience in steady-state and transient CFD modeling is required.
Capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
Experience with Ansys Fluent and Cadence 6Sigma products are required
Experience with Revit, Autocad or similar 3D modeling software is preferred.
Must be expert in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
