Senior Commercial Contract Manager, The Netherlands
Primary Objective of Position
To provide strategic direction and leadership to the Contracts Business.
To lead all aspects of contracts management, participate and lead discussions with insurance companies and 3rd party distributors as applicable.
Ongoing contract monitoring and support and future shaping of our offer to ensure that Abbott develops and maintains a leadership position in all aspects related to this function.
Identify future contract targets; Drive insights for Contract hunters from financial perspective.
Assess financial opportunities and risks of potential Contract wins and current Abbott contracts.
Pricing:
Guides, Monitors, analyze, & provide expertise on pricing and product mix opportunities.
Advise on contract pricing and contract offering for large and complex bids.
Improve current contracts profitability:
Work with the sales, marketing, market access and internal other stakeholders to improve their understanding of financial data, and implications for decisions within trusts.
To support troubleshooting of major issues within key accounts as required and identify improvements to help mitigate or resolve these issues.
Work with the upper management & stakeholders internally and externally to standardize Targeting & Segmentation of contracts.
This role requires strategic decision making and highly effective cross-functional working to ensure collective and efficient decision making, effectively optimizing all available resources to achieve competitive contracting leadership.
Major Accountabilities
Provides strong leadership, a vision and strategic direction to all stakeholders involved (account managers, administrative people etc).
Achieves agreed plan outcomes (e.g., contract wins, contract implementation, sales goals).
Responsible for leading the team involved in contract regarding the preparation of contract documentation and debriefs.
Ensures the team involved in the contract delivers effective and efficient service in supporting contract maintenance and work with the contract managers team increasing contract profitability.
Financials:
Supporting the achievement of the financial targets
Work with the whole people involved in the contract process to improve their understanding of financial data, and implications for decisions within trusts.
To support troubleshooting of major issues within key accounts as required and identify improvements to help mitigate or resolve these issues
Coordinating the preparation and analysis of contracts P&Ls to recommend pricing strategies to upper management and finance.
New Business model analytics:
Advise on Pricing models to Leadership Team
Recommendations based on Return-on-Investment analytics
Own Contract Funding reporting & forecasting
Challenges the status quo by formulating and implementing new ways of working and innovative solutions.
Create and utilize a contract Calendar to ensure a current picture of the contract status is readily available and that all contract requirements, information, and actions are fulfilled on a timely basis.
Lead & facilitate task force meetings with a cross functional commercial team as required to discuss any Contract issues, contract pricing, contract commitment performance, contract status, and any other relevant items.
Representing Abbott at keys stakeholder meetings and industry events.
Displaying confident negotiation skills to shape outcomes positively for Abbott.
Maintain overview of the total contract landscape to identify and spot business opportunities/emerging trends on which Abbott can capitalize.
Education and Background
Bachelors Degree; an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Fluency in English and Dutch.
Must have excellent system skills, aptitude, and experience, especially Excel, PowerPoint and SAP.
Skills
Strong business acumen, driving business critical processes, such as, but not limited to contract negotiation, sales performance reviews, leading projects, supply chain management, pricing model analysis.
Strong analytical skills and experience from statistical forecasting and the ability to use analysis in an operational context to support ADC team in decision making processes.
An effective networker, with experience in influencing cross functional teams.
An experienced and able communicator, with the ability to inspire teams utilizing effective written and oral communication.
Ability to plan, organize and manage complex projects, whilst dealing with conflicting priorities, efficiently and effectively.
Experience
Minimum 5-7 years of relevant progressive experience in MedTech, Pharma or similar industry.
Strong commercial experience.
Extensive experience leading complex projects including significant experience and success achieving results with broad cross-functional teams
Experience in leading and building effective working relationships with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders.
Experienced and capable at using Microsoft Office applications (Inc. Excel)
Impact of position
Role with focus on commercial excellence of sales execution, business excellence, supply chain and forecasting in support of Commercial Managers decision making to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Operates under Quality and Regulatory directives and Abbott policies and procedures.
Follows local regulations and European guidelines.

Reports significant risks related to our activities to upper management
