Job Description Summary
The SPB CNC Programmer will provide technical support for the factory across all components, processes, and machines. Additionally, the Senior Programmer will coach/guide/mentor/train CADCAM team members on the CADCAM team as well as other Manufacturing Engineers across the factory.

Roles and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and guidance as well as mentor and develop CNC programmers plant-wide
Manage process and product improvement projects via collaboration with appropriate technical and operations teams across the plant
Develop, improve, and standardize programming processes within the CADCAM team and across the plant (including Post Processors, Vericut, TDM, CAM environment, on machine controls, etc.)
Conduct root cause analysis and drive cross-functional, collaborative resolution to quality and technical issues
Partner with Process and Product Industrialization teams, Design Engineering, Product Definition Teams, (and others) to drive long term product quality, producibility, and cost out opportunities
As needed, generate and maintain CNC programs utilizing NX-CAM or other software. This could include, but not limited to, multi-axis milling, turning, grinding and/or EDM
Provide daily operator support in the form of CNC programming and troubleshooting supporting the shop floor
Support and implement tooling and fixturing requirements associated with CNC machine tools
Initiate and lead process improvement projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost
Provide guidance in the implementation and expansion of CNC/CAM technology
Provide effective communication and work direction to appropriate team members when needed
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while embracing and driving positive change inside and outside the organization when appropriate
Train less experienced programmers as needed
Be the administrator and custodian of software used within the group
Generate and manage Appropriation Requests and Purchase orders for the organization
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, Associates Degree, or graduate of machining related Apprentice Program Apprentice Graduate in a machining related program with 8 years of experience in CNC machining
Minimum of 8 years of experience with a graphical based CAM software creating 3 and 4-axis CNC programs.
Desired Characteristics
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Machine Tool Technology
8 years of experience creating 5-axis CNC programs using a CAM system (preferably NX)
Minimum of 8 year of experience with high-level machine tool controls including sub-routine(macro), probing, variable based programming and closed loop machining
Demonstrated proficiency programming multiple types of CNC machines (HBM, VTL, wEDM, sEDM, VMC, HMC, etc.)
Demonstrated proficiency programming CNC machines with NX-CAM
Strong familiarity with multiple machine controls including Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, and G&L
Strong familiarity with Renishaw probing processes and routines
Knowledge of machining high temperature super alloys used in gas turbines
Experience using Vericut (preferred) or other CNC verification/machine simulation software
Knowledge of post-processor development and debugging, preferably NX Post Builder or NX Post Configurator
Demonstrated proficiency interpreting drawing requirements and GD&T
Strong problem solving and organizational skills with above average shop math skills in trigonometry and geometry
Ability to drive innovation by implementing new ideas and screening new technologies to align with business objectives
Ability to effectively communicate to multiple levels of the organization, both verbally and through written communication
Ability to enact and drive change within an organization
Ability to multi-task and productively manage multiple projects concurrently
Self-motivated and self-driven proven project leadership

The base pay range for this position is 100,400.00 - 133,900 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 15% Annual Bonus.
