Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Seniorcivil Site/Infrastructure Engineer to join our Civil Design Team. We offer a collaborative,multi-discipline environment to develop innovative, cost effective designsfor new facilities, expansions, upgrades and retrofits.In this position you will be responsible for providing support and / orleading the civil design effort on small to large projects working directlywith other engineers and design staff; and collaborating with ourstructural, mechanical, process and electrical engineers and designers onthose designs. Projects include both conventional design/bid/build andalternative delivery such as design/build.You will be responsible for working effectively with local and remote designteam members to meet and exceed project schedule and quality goals. You willassist in the civil discipline portions of business development activities.This includes developing civil scope and engineering level of effort estimatesas well as maintaining project budgets and schedules. You will beworking with technical staff and executing the following types of work:Perform engineering work in coordination with the Civil Design Discipline teamon a variety of water and wastewater projects; including pump stations,linear utilities, site improvements, and retrofits for municipal andprivate industrial clients.Assist in project scope and budget development, as well as, assisting inproject design.Supports PM providing technical leadership on civil-site projects includingpreparation of grading, drainage, site layout, utility, and erosioncontrol plansReviews work of others for quality and resolving design and developmentproblemsAssists in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications,plans, permits, and designs for projectUndertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigationsUse a range of computer software's for developing detailed designsAssists in client contact and communication, and attends client meetingsAbility to lead civil engineering designs, preparing reports, constructiondrawings, specifications, and calculations for a variety project elementsKnowledge and understanding of hydrology and hydraulics associated with thedesign of both open channel, closed conduits, stormwater managementfacilities, reservoirs, and erosion control practicesSupport the creation of studies, permitting application documents andalternative analysesOversee and complete data collection, manipulation, analysis, anddocumentationConduct field work, such as site investigations, as necessary for variousprojects, including on occasion, visit job site for constructionobservation dutiesCheck performance or conformity with plans and specifications through fieldinspections as part of engineering services during constructionPerform submittal reviews, requests for information, correspondence,change requests, and change orders for construction projectsCommunicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including otherdisciplines (Engineers, Designers)Coordinate civil project work with surveyors, geotechnical,architectural, process, mechanical, and electrical engineers and consultantsContribute to company standard detail and specification development andupdates.Supervise employees; evaluating annual performance, manage performance,mentor, and train.Mentor less experienced junior- and entry-level engineersStrong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlinesAdditional duties may include marketing and business development, projectmanagement assistance, professional development, proposal preparation,and other business-related functions.Desired Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or relatedengineering field required; Master's degree preferredMinimum of 10 years' professional experience in municipal and/orindustrial civil design including water and wastewater pipelines and sitework; and construction administration preferredProfessional Engineering license is required, plus ability to obtain licensein additional states as neededExperience working with local and area permitting agencies to obtain site andstorm water permits for industrial/municipal site development required.Demonstrated ability to use standard computer programs such as MicrosoftWord, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint requiredValid driver's license and good driving record requiredExperience coordinating with staff performing Civil 3D is a plusExperience using engineering calculation software (e.g. MathCAD) is a plusExperience using hydrology and hydraulic calculations/modeling software(e.g. HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Hydraflow Storm Sewers, etc.) is a plusProficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, MEP/Revit a plus.Field/construction experience is a plusGIS experience is a plusGood technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts bothvisually and verbally
