Prime Decision Sciences is a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers, Research Scientists and Product Managers whose vision is to enable insight driven decision-making for Amazon Prime worldwide. You will use your excellent communication and technical skills to translate a variety of business problems into analytical solutions, collaborating with and challenging business owners (Marketing and Product Managers) to make better decisions on behalf of Amazon and our customers.Key job responsibilities- Revealing insights about our customers that inform how we evolve the Prime program- Providing thought leadership as a trusted, cross-functional Business Intelligence expert- Creating analytical services and products that solve business problems and drive effective decision-making at scale- Liaising between Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Finance and Product Management teams to influence prioritization and drive requirements of projects- Leading and mentoring less experienced engineers, providing guidance on analytical approaches, prioritization trade-offs, and how to frame complex business problemsWe are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA- 10+ years of professional or military experience- 5+ years of SQL experience- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.- Experience with AWS technologies- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership- Master's degree in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative fieldOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
