What you'll be doing:
Lead the manual billing, collection, and payment application process. Update customer rates annually and generate all required communication. Initiate ACH transactions and post payments received via multiple payment channels. Perform required reconciliations. Provide customer service regarding billing/payment questions and resolve underpayments/overpayments. Perform monthly close processes and provide reports to external and internal customers. Calculate administrative fees and manage the administrative fee billing or remittance process. Provide other billing and collections support as required.Assist with staff training and act as a technical resource. Manage complex accounts with the ability to address and resolve complex issues.
On any given day, you'll:
Lead the manual billing process. Resolve underpayments/overpayments and all other billing issues as they occur.Perform monthly close processes according to schedule. Remit payments and provide reports to external and internal customers on a timely basis.Calculate administrative fees and manage the administrative fee billing or remittance process. Ensure administrative fees are collected.Perform required reconciliations on a daily, monthly, and annual basis. Resolve all reconciling items on a timely basis.Serve as a technical resource for staff questions and training needs.*This is a hybrid position that requires 2 days per week in the office and can be based in either:1) Merrill, WI2) Mechanicsburg, PAPlease note your preferred work location from the list above when applying.
Here's what we expect
Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, accounts receivable, and/or billing preferred.Customer service experience is preferred.An associate degree in accounting or equivalent is preferred. Office, computer, and/or insurance classes are desirable.Ability to keyboard and proofread accurately.Accuracy in gathering and disseminating information is essential.Must have above-average computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of accounting principles.Ability to effectively communicate with others.Must be self-motivated.Possess a cooperative attitude and willingness to accept new responsibilities.Must use sound judgment in making independent decisions.Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information received from all venues.Knowledge of the accounts receivable process.Ability to investigate and resolve issues.Must competently interact and communicate with all home office employees and field salespeople and directly with policyholders.
Exact compensation will vary based on consideration of a variety of factors including education, skills, experience, and location
