We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join us in a hybrid based role at our Portsmouth office.
What you’ll do:
Implement Automation Platform Standardization, Automation Software Programming according to internal and international standards and Automation Software Validation Procedures.
Provides guidance to Automation Vendors and System Integrators.
Communicates directly with management, internal clients, and external vendors.
Responsible for records on installed base, upgrade rollouts, version control.
Stays current on advancements in automation technology and computer validation.
Who you are:
Educated in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Chemical Engineering - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in Process Automation / System development related position using at least two of the following:
Developing / designing PLC programs of the following suppliers: Rockwell, Siemens or Beckhoff
Configuring / designing SCADA programs using AVEVA System Platform or Inductive Automation Ignition.
An understanding of Automation software / hardware architectures and Industrial Communication Protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA and Modbus.
Experience of working in a project-based organization with demonstrated leadership skills.
Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
working in a regulated environments / with systems designed for use in regulated environments.
participating in projects according to GAMP 5 including validation of computer systems
one or more of the following software packages: AVEVA Historian, SQL Server, AVEVA PI
