  Position Summary...

  What you'll do...

  Manages Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) incident response process by investigating high-risk potential breach reports as identified by management, collecting data and background information (directly from associates of all levels) to ascertain how the potential breach occurred, documenting investigation details, managing stakeholders to ensure all investigation activities are completed, conducting analysis to substantiate if a breach of personal information occurred, managing customer notifications and responses as required by regulatory authority or instructed by legal, managing media alerts and notifications, completing notice to federal and state agencies, and identifying issues of significant compliance concerns and escalating them to department leadership, senior management or other departments.

  Assists in program management by responding to compliance and ethics questions and issues by monitoring laws and regulations for specified area, modeling the use and application of viable technology solutions, delivering insights for program metrics and reporting, leading associate training and onboarding to develop top-tier talent, supporting innovation and intelligent risk-taking to achieve operational excellence, driving and executing updates to policies and standard operating procedures with input from leadership based on compliance questions raised and annual program updates, collaborating with leadership to communicate information to associates, monitoring compliance and ethics questions for potential gaps, recommending and developing strategies for identified compliance and ethics gaps and partnering with members of management to provide ad-hoc program support.

  Responds to compliance questions by researching Walmart health and wellness policies and procedures and determining the correct response to address compliance questions, communicating answers to questions to Health and Wellness teams, monitoring compliance questions for potential gaps, recommending strategies for identified compliance gaps, and managing the development and implementation of corrective action plans based upon compliance deficiencies identified.

  Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, impactfully communicating and collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; leveraging data and analytics to generate insights and make informed decisions, identifying and escalating priorities, deadlines, and expectations, prioritizing and carrying out tasks, proactively communicating progress and information, seeking and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities, swiftly adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities, responding to incoming communications from regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders by determining need for escalation; identifying and assembling required team members, managing and tracking team investigation activities to ensure action items are completed.

  Manages compliance deadlines based on knowledge of regulatory notification requirements to allow response and lead time with collaborators and agencies; resolving and escalating business disruptions and delays as directed, containing and remediating active incidents, managing reporting requirements and investigation files to summarize compliance themes, analyzing and interpreting reports to determine root cause of deficiencies and regulatory risk trends, and manipulating and cataloging raw data into reports to meet business and regulatory needs.

  Researches regulatory issues by managing tools and resources required to obtain relevant and manage information, working with third-party research and development studies on proposed policy and relevant provisions, working with internal and external stakeholders impacted by proposed policies or provisions, managing impact assessments of proposed policies or provisions, and evaluating research and predictive trends to provide recommendations to leadership.

  Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices, supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

  Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building trusting relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
