Amazon Studios Accounting is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting team responsible for International TV series and films and support long-term efforts to scale and support a dynamic industry with evolving business requirements.
The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial by nature, analytical in approach and have a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically about global initiatives and the impact to local statutory and GAAP accounting. This role requires a self-starter, a keen attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced ambiguous environment. This position will be responsible for assessing the accounting impact of unique business transactions and support operational teams and tech teams as they work to implement the appropriate systems and tools.
• Partner and collaborate with key stakeholders by researching and applying US GAAP to unique, significant, and/or non-routine transactions.
• Ensure appropriate documentation of accounting and reporting conclusions for complex business transactions.
• Partner with and support business, finance, and tax teams on new launches and initiatives
• Manage Studios accounting-wide projects on an ad-hoc basis.
• Actively coach and develop staff on Studios operational accounting teams.
This position will also be expected to understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to influence the design of systems, processes and controls for business activities. Technical accounting research and position paper writing will also be a requirement for this position.
We are currently looking for candidates who are at the senior manager level. Many of our candidates for this position will also have held similar positions in larger public companies or who have held a senior manager level position with a Big 4 public accounting firm serving Fortune 500 clients for 2 or more years.
This position will be based out of Amazon corporate offices of Los Angeles, CA or London, England, UK

Basic Qualifications
12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
10+ years of positions that require analysis and reporting financial results experience
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field with sufficient experience to sit for the CPA exam
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams experience
8+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
8+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience
5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience
MBA, or CPA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
