We have six manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Donegal, Longford and Sligo and a third-party manufacturing management operation in Sligo. Abbott has commercial, support operations and shared services in Dublin and Galway. We have been operating in Ireland since 1946.
We currently have a vacancy for an Senior Accountant who will work within the RTR team, looking after the European markets with our outsourced partners.
The successful candidate will join the Shared Services Centre based in Cherrywood Business Park, Loughlinstown, Co Dublin.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibility for the monthly general ledger close activities for US GAAP
Review and preparation of monthly reconciliations & journals to ensure high quality compliance with US GAAP
Complete SOX controls in line with control matrix
Oversight of outsourced business partner
Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders and provide information and support as needed
Ensure timely completion of Internal and External audits.
Perform analytics to ensure accuracy of financial information
Identify opportunities for improvement of processes
Provide input to and co-ordinate projects
Provide support to HR partner and manage the payroll reconciliations
Manage activities related to oversight of standard cost release in SAP and impacts from product flow changes
Ad hoc activities and business support as they arise
KEY REQUIREMENTS :
Accounting Qualification – ACA, ACCA, CIMA
3-5 years relevant experience – preferably with Shared Service Centre or multinational background
Experience in a fast past environment
SAP or other major ERP Systems experience is desirable
Excellent stakeholder management as this role will involve dealing with Senior Stake holders.
Strong sense of initiative in making process improvements
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
Able to work independently to understand and summarise financial data into high quality, accurate and usable summaries
Strong computer skills especially MS Office
Ability to challenge the status quo and have a positive, proactive attitude
Power BI or data analytics skills desirable
Lean Six Sigma experience desirable
