About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees. Responsibilities Receive office visitors and telephone calls and disposes of routine matters personally that do not require the attention of superiors. Maintain current knowledge of director's weekly schedule and advises the director as to leave schedules of operating division chiefs. Remind supervisor of appointments, on own initiative reschedules appointments when it is evident that supervisor will not be able to meet the scheduled appointments. Discuss with superiors pending correspondence, calling to their attention scheduled deadlines, pending reports and other matters requiring their immediate attention. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience Required: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes receiving telephone calls and visitors, assembling information for various reports, briefing and presentation; Prepare a wide variety of recurring internal reports, documents and correspondence; Maintain supervisor's calendar, schedules appointments, make travel arrangements; Inputs employees time and attendance, and serves as liaison between the management and personnel. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Clerical Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Manages and Organizes Information Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Education Substitution of education is not applicable for this position. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One-year probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Program (CP) - 51 Administration position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. You may claim military spouse preference (MSP). If a MSP applicant is determined best qualified and selected, placement must be at the full performance level for priority consideration. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
