Job Description:
Require an operations engineer to support a government Satellite Program Office (SPO) in mission management of a new operational system. This position encompasses all aspects of end-to-end operations engineering to include mission operations planning, maintaining mission capability, coordination with enterprise partners, and daily interaction with satellite and payload contractors.
Key areas of responsibilities include:
Mission operations oversight to ensure the system is fulfilling its performance objectives
Execution of the Operations and Maintenance Plan
Anomaly management and response
Operational reporting to government leadership
User engagement on system capability
Software deployment review
Enterprise Coordination
Discrepancy Report adjudication
Mission engineering prioritization
This position is part of the operations function in a SPO and will involve participation in all stages of a satellite life cycle. Your responsibilities will extend across multiple satellites in a compressed timeline resulting in concurrent activities. This position requires a high performing individual who thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience
Master’s Degree and 2 years of experience
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment
