Description • The position is required to ensure timely filing of company's entities’ US and Canadian sales tax returns, federal excise tax, business licenses, unclaimed and personal property tax returns, and other government required forms and reports as needed.
• Ensures accurate accumulation, reporting and record retention of sales and use tax information and prepares reconciliation of sales tax accounts as needed for financial statement purposes.
• Provides audit support in dealing with tax audits and resolves issues with tax authorities, and minimizing tax liabilities of the Company; and
• Monitors state compliance requirements, update tax filing calendars, formulates guideline and procedures for business units to comply with.
• Provides transactional tax analysis and consulting to business units for contracting, services and other projects.
• Provides support to other areas of tax compliance and reporting, and M& A due diligence. Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and master’s degree in tax or accounting a plus.
· Minimum 3-year sales tax experience in public accounting or a large company’s tax department. (Will consider new grads.)
· Excellent communication and organizational skills, proficient or familiar with Excel, Vertex software, ERP, and CCH tax research tool, and a team player willing to work in a fast-paced corporate environment.
