Description:
IKD is looking to add a new position to their safety team because the department is growing and this role will then grow into a more specialized position in the company. IKD is a provider of industrial rotary equipment. they serve several industries including pharmaceuticals, food, chemical, paper and many more.
They need a Safety Specialist to focus on weld codes. This person will be reviewing projects to make sure the welds are correct and up to code for the project as we as communicate with several 3rd party systems on safety approvals. This role will travel about 75-80%, travel nationally. The specialist will be required to be on site when all activity is occurring, this may require extended hours while on the road. The candidate will host trainings at IKD in OSHA, MSHA, Rigging, and more to ensure all workers are practicing the best safety practices while on site. Sites are large installations for rotary equipment that are more like construction sites than mechanical shops. Specialist will also communicate with the Safety Director as well as the Safety Coordinator (Actalent Consultant) to ensure that all projects have a safety presence.
Essential Functions:
Host safety trainings
Utilize several contract management systems like: SMI, first verify, and DISA.
Write the PQR and review Weld Process Specs (WPS)
Inspect and diagnose safety hazards on job sites

3+ years safety experience
OSHA 500 or 501
Open and willing to learn MSHA standards
