JOB REQUIREMENTS: Assist the Safety, Security & Environmental Manager indeveloping and implementing the plant\'s environmental, safety &security process to ensure a proactive approach of continuousimprovement in the areas of safety & security policies & procedures,injury & illness prevention, safety management, plant security, crisismanagement, OSHA compliance and Environmental compliance including ISO14001. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Safety,Security & Environmental Manager to ensure compliance with state andfederal safety regulatory requirements. Assist the Safety, Security &Environmental Manager in evaluating the factory environment to meetemployee\'s ergonomic needs, noise level compliance, and procedures areimplemented to meet both the Company\'s safety requirements andregulatory standards. Conducts safety and environmental audits andensures proper corrective action is taken. References McCain\'s keyelement and cultural assessment process to assist the Safety, SecurityManager & Environmental Manager in closing the gaps identified in theannual internal or external safety audits. Acts as a resource for theemployee safety committees in coordination with the Safety & SecurityManager. Stays abreast of pending developments in the safety & securityarea that could impact the plant via professional associations,workshops, etc. Assist in Safety, Environmental and Security complianceof \"Beyond\" plant expansion and the associated contractor andconstruction safety management. Learn and develop the key skillsrequired to implement continuous improvement disciplines into the safetyimprovement process. Participate in continuous improvement activitiesand training opportunities Assist the Safety, Security & EnvironmentalManager in executing specific programs and activities to preventemployee injury and illness and increase employee well-being. Programsshould target employee responsibility for individual safety and focus onboth on-the-job and off-the-job activities that have an effect onemployee health. Ability to work independently and within teams onprojects with minimal supervision. Assist/support the Safety, Security &Environmental Manager in areas of environmental compliance includingdaily management activities, training, audit compliance and ISO14001system management Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical datarelated to occupational illnesses and accidents. Conduct or coordinateworker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardouscondition monitoring, and use of safety equipment. Inspect facilities,machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potentialhazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance. Recommend measuresto help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods,processes, or materials. Order suspension of activities that posethreats to workers\' health or safety. Investigate accidents to identifycauses or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in thefuture. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: The ability towork with and influence others to cultivate a positive safety culture.Able to create written safety procedures such as Job Safety Analysis(JSA), Lock Out procedures, Safety Policies, and Standard Work. Theability to deal with and develop a plan in an ambiguous environment iskey. Experience in training and facilitating is a plus. Strong oralcommunications.
