　　Position Summary:

　　Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processin accordance withapplicable scope and standards of practice. Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical caretreatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate tocare team, physician, patient, and family. Assistspatients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,referraland spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovidespatient/family educationappropriate toage, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Identifiesand resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services. Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards,policiesand procedures. 　　Graduate of a school of nursingrequired. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Current RN license to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact staterequired Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in area of practicerequired Requires critical thinking skills, decisivejudgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision.
