The Honeywell Aerospace engineering team has an immediate opening for a Senior Advanced Project Engineer to support the HTF7000 and Legacy Turbofan Sustaining teams in the role as a test engineer. In this role, you will partner with world class engineers and technicians to define test objectives, instrument and build test articles and execute and document engine tests in support of HTF7000 turbofan engine in-service resolution, product improvement and advanced technology programs. You will take ownership of and drive improvements in HTF test engineering processes. You will also have an opportunity to plan and execute a variety of in-service and new development programs, including product improvements resolving service-revealed difficulties, supply-chain support and cost-reduction programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead cross-functional teams to define, plan and execute tests required to meet program objectives.
• Write assembly instructions, test instructions and test reports
• Prepare estimates for engine test activities
• Manage test article and related hardware, instrumentation and necessary data acquisition systems.
• Develop and track to detailed schedules with established milestones
• Own the integrated program test schedule
• Own test engineering work instructions and processes
• Identify risks and opportunities; develop and execute mitigation/realization plans.
• Plan and execute small to medium size projects in support of sustaining module leads.
• Present project plans and status to customers, operators and internal stakeholder
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVE
• 5+ plus years’ experience in the aerospace industry developing complex mechanical systems
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
WE VALUE
• Engine test experience, or test experience with complex mechanical systems.
• Experience with the design, manufacture, assembly and/or test of turbomachinery.
• Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done and who do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills required to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers and suppliers.
• Program management skills, including experience managing cost and schedule
• Teambuilding and leadership skills.
• Ability to focus on the details. Excellent organizational skills
