About RN - Residential Group Homes! Up to $55/hour

  Maxim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to help support residential group homes!

  The nurse must be responsible for assessing peoples supported health matters and needs, while developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. The nurse also will be responsible for administering nursing care to people needing support.

  Details:

  Schedule: 8x5's, must be open to weekends and holidays

  Contract: 13 week assignment (with possible extension!)

  Location: Buena Park and Santa Ana

  Pay: $55/hour dependent on experience

  Responsibilities:

  Directly assesses each person supported individually once per week at minimum or as needed. Utilizes critical thinking skills while providing individual assessment and acts in a timely manner to coordinate continuing care.

  Performs role of Charge Nurse at the beginning of the shift. Coordinates and or attends shift . handoff to assist incoming nurse understand how to best care for people supported.

  Supervises LVN clinical responsibilities and determines LVN assignment to designated homes for shift and supervises nursing care when relevant.

  Provides telephone or on-site consultations to Licensed Vocational Nurses and DSPs as needs arise.

  Assures quality of care by adhering to nursing standards of practice.

  Delegates tasks to LVN's and/or Direct Support Professionals/Caregivers based on the legal scope of practice and on the preparation and capability needed in the tasks to be delegated.

  Effectively supervises nursing care being given by subordinates.

  Develops and assures implementation of a Nursing/Health Care Plan for each person supported based on a comprehensive nursing assessment and nursing diagnosis with reviews at least semi-annually or when changes are needed.

  May be required to accompany people supported to medical appointments which may require RN intervention and advocacy.

  Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team at the Individual Service Conferences to assist in the development of comprehensive 30 day annual, and semi-annual ISP’s including identification of goals relating to the nursing diagnoses.

  Works closely with the attending physician to secure specialist to meet the health care needs of the person supported.

  Completes monthly progress notes based on Nursing/Health Care Plan, physician orders, and all persons supported change in condition.

  Completes quarterly nursing examinations.

  Participates in monthly or bi-monthly doctor rounds with the physician and/or physician's assistant. Reviews all new physician orders and ensures implementation of the new orders.

  Oversees and verifies physicians’ orders and medication regimen every two-weeks (N) or every 30-days {H)

  Responsible for making sure all persons supported have correct physician orders.

  Requirements:

  Active CA RN license

  Valid and current CA driver license

  Minimum (1) year of clinical experience as an RN

  Successful completion of background and hiring process

  Previous experience in the care and treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
