As a part of the world's largest online store, the Global Controversial Products (GCP) team preserves customer trust by prohibiting sale of products that are deemed offensive by our policies. As a Risk Manager on the team, you'll help design, create and deploy internal tools and tech that keep Amazon a safe place to shop.
You will partner with multiple stakeholders to influence behavior, plan projects with key retail business partners, and inspire cross functional team commitments on the part of all personnel in complying with Amazon trust and safety measures in accordance with Amazon policies.
The Risk Manager will manage relationships internally, to guide and develop global policies consistent with program tenets. The role requires representing, and advocating for, the voice of the customer. This role relies on program management skills to manage the technical and operational aspects of a content policy program.
Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
• Define operational strategies for intricate business and program needs, incorporating inputs and driving alignment across world wide teams.
• Manage the delivery of complex initiatives across various teams, components of which include data analysis, operationalizing and scaling new processes, and catalog classification
• Develop and maintain metrics and reporting to monitor risks, program health, and initiative progress
• Conduct risk assessments of existing controls and recommend solutions to address identified risks such as developing region-specific abuse prevention processes, tools, and policies
• Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future

Basic Qualifications
Experience with project/program management working with cross-functional teams
Experience in investigations, incident or crisis management, or program management, or escalation handling
Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders, and working on, and delivering projects in the face of ambiguity
Operational and technical background OR experience using analytical and quantitative skills to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
Experience delivering initiatives from conception through completion
Experience preparing reports identifying findings and providing recommended remediation strategies and solutions
Experience using communications skills to create and edit content for internal and external audiences
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with content policy and customer trust and safety discipline
Organizational skills with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
Interest in representing, and advocating for the voice of the customer
Experience working with geographically distributed teams within a complex international organization
