We have an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate Intern to join our Risk & Control Assurance team in Poway, California!
This position is available for undergraduate or graduate students to participate in supervised practical training in a professional field, particularly Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration. This position will assist in the completion of routine and non-routine tasks, including control monitoring activities and special projects; assists in the analysis, investigation, and solution of associated gaps or issues; and assists in developing electronic and hard copy documentation as required. Under close supervision, this position is responsible for providing objective assurance over the adequacy, effectiveness, and sustainability of GA-ASI’s DFARS Business Systems and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with coordinating and executing DFARS Business Systems and Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICFR) monitoring activities including test of design (TOD), test of operating effectiveness (TOE), and corrective action monitoring.
Assists with the assessment of audit evidence and preparing workpapers that support the nature, timing, extent, and conclusions reached.
Assists in applying knowledge to proactively analyze, investigate and resolve problems, including performing critical thinking to identify root causes of control exceptions and recommend sound solutions.
Assists with facilitating and monitoring corrective action plans through completion.
Assists with research of accounting and defense industry technical issues in accordance with the applicable professional standards: FAR, DFARs, CAS, etc., when required.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at a recognized college or university pursing accounting, finance, or related discipline.
Ability to understand new concepts and apply them accurately.
Ability to follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures.
Basic communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective interface with internal professionals.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Organized, detailed, proactive, self-motivated, collaborative.
Familiarity with Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
This position pays at an hourly rate of $22.00 per hour
