Field Engineer / Project Engineer in Seattle

What You Will Be Doing: You will work in a collaborative team environment under the leadership of the Senior Project Managers Project Managers and/or Project Engineers. As a Field Engineer / Project Engineer, you help remove roadblocks for our field operations team and support other job site team members. Successful performers in this position will have the ability to develop, maintain and enhance working relationships.
Field Engineers typically start with mastering document controls, tracking, and purchasing within the first 1 – to 5 years of their careers.
Project Engineer is the second phase to become a Project Manager. Besides mastering Field Engineer's expectations, Project Engineers master cost elements like Change Orders or assisting with estimating, schedule updates, and RFI writing and integration to costs and schedule impacts and understanding of the project life cycle, within the first 5 to 8 years of career.
Field Engineers perform the following:
Learn, follow, and promote Company safety protocols
Schedule, verify, and coordinate the submittal processes; Ensure components will function as intended, are coordinated with the associated components, and are furnished in accordance with the contractual, subcontract, and purchase order criteria
Verify and follow the schedule of submittal through the approval process. Ensure the fabrication schedule is in support of the material need dates
Monitor and manage vendors and OEMs to ensure project compliance
When assigned, provide scheduling support to the team
Clearly communicate scope, specification, and Quality Assurance requirements to Fab Shop Assist the Project Superintendent as required
Coordinate Inspections by Authorities having jurisdiction and 3rd Party Inspection Agencies
Maintain all Quality Assurance documentation Maintain accurate field engineering records
Maintain shop and contract drawings in a current and neat condition
Track all drawings, submittals, shop drawings, and revisions utilizing Document Control Procedures
Maintain current logs and copies of subcontracts and revisions
Maintain project controls to track and control all change documents
Maintain in progress as-built drawings and specifications
Assemble and maintain required system and/or job turnover documentation
Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned
What You Need To Be Part Of Our All-Star Team:
Fully Proficient in Microsoft Office & Bluebeam – intermediate skills in Excel
Strong oral and written communication skills
Self-starter, motivated, and takes initiative
Organized and productive
Ability to proactively build and cultivate relationships
Ability to maintain proactive, collaborative, and professional relationships with Client Representatives, Suppliers, Subcontractors and internal team
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and projects at hand
Energetic and eager to prioritize workload and tackle new projects and ideas
Must have a valid driver's license
Mechanical aptitude
Education/Experience:
Construction Management, Mechanical, Industrial, Civil engineering degree and/or equivalent experience or education
Minimum two years of construction industry
Proficient in reading drawings and isometrics
A solid theory knowledge of Project Management, Construction Management, Construction Contracts, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, and/or Safety is a plus
Benefits:
Compensation: $30-$45 per hour (DOE), FLSA non-exempt (OT eligible)
