Associate's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two [2] years of full time experience directly related to the project or program. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Driver's License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations. Experience in microscopic image analyses. Experience in field sampling coastal ecosystems. Experience in pigment analyses. Experience in microscopic quantification of plankton. Brief Description of Duties:
The Research Technician will assist in the Gobler Laboratory, working with laboratory and field research focused on harmful algae blooms. They will assist with specific ongoing water quality monitoring and associated sample analysis. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
Perform experiments with harmful algae.Perform field sampling of coastal ecosystems.Perform image analysis of plankton samples.Analyze data from image analyses from experiments.Perform microscopic analyses of plankton samples.Analyze data, make graphs, write reports.Other duties as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission.
