  Research Specialist A

  Job Description Summary

  We are seeking a passionate and motivated junior specialist to lead an exciting project on antagonistic molecular interactions between bacteria and phage. This will entail learning how to design and perform relevant molecular biology experiments as well as analyze and present the results. A secondary goal will be to manage standard operating procedures in the lab and help manage lab supplies, inventory, and organization.

  This position is contingent upon grant funding.

  Job Responsibilities

  Manage lab inventory and organization to foster efficiency and collaboration

  Design and execute a diverse repertoire of molecular biology experiments

  Analyze data and distill findings into compelling presentations

  Learn basic bioinformatics and molecular biology skills

  Perform molecular biology experiments (e.g. clone recombinant DNA constructs, engineer microbial strains, measure bacterial growth, analyze protein and RNA expression, etc.)

  Manage standard operating procedures, manage lab reagents and equipment, track inventory

  Attend and participate in lab meetings and other science meetings

  Record, analyze, and interpret experimental results

  Read literature and attend seminars

  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  Qualifications

  Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  Wet lab research experience is preferred but not required.

  $36,368.00 - $50,000.00 Annual Rate

  Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
