Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, seeks a Full-Time, Salaried Community Coordinator for the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research's NJ Health Study. The primary purpose of this position is to support, lead, and perform research operations, including developing research strategies for the recruitment and retention of the target immigrant sample population, structured interviewing, and other forms of data collection and data management.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Identifies community-based organizations (CBOs), community leaders, and gatekeepers as strong community research partners to support recruitment efforts
  • Assists in the training of research staff
  • Performs data entry, management, and organization
  • Reviews data for integrity and adherence to study protocols
  • Assists with study management
  • Provides support in special projects as assigned based on demonstrated knowledge and job skills.
  • Engages in community outreach via in-person events and telephone contact, and contribute to or develop presentations, handouts, and marketing material.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Must have a valid driver's license and private, reliable transportation to research participants' homes or other meeting locations to conduct research activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience and familiarity with research.
  • Requires the ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must have effective client service skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or advanced degree with at least two years working in social/behavioral or clinical research in the academic or private sector.
  • Up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet, word-processing, database, and analytical software, such as STATA, SAS, R, Mplus, and HLM.
  • Fluent (read/write/speak) in Hindi, Gujarati, Korean, Spanish, Chinese, or Tagalog. Experience working with Indian, Filipino, Dominican, Mexican. or Korean communities.
