  Job ID359261 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyResearch-Support Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code8352P1 Employee ClassCivil Service About the Job PI Meghan Swanson seeks to hire a Research Assistant for executing all tasks associated with a NIH funded research study. The research study is in collaboration with the Infant Brain Imaging Study Early Prediction Project (https://ibis-network.com/infant/). The Early Prediction Project protocol includes MRI brain scans, behavioral and clinical assessments, EEG recordings, eye tracking, and home language recordings. Participants are infants at increased likelihood for autism by virtue of having an older sibling with autism. The ideal candidate will have the ability and desire to learn new skills. They will also be detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize information in a timely manner. The candidate should have a desire to work with children and families, and be a strong communicator in verbal and written situations. Responsibilities: (50%) Assist in collecting home language recording data Answer participant questions regarding home language data collection Prepare home language recordings kits, mail kits, track kits, and process kits when they are returned Contact families with reminders to complete recordings and return kits (20%) Carry out independent tasks Attend IBIS conference calls Review data collection completeness and create data success reports Liaise with study sites to ensure data collection is maximized Prepare IRB applications, modifications, and annual reports Assist with NIH progress reports (20%) Carry out lab management tasks Coordinate schedules for staff, undergraduate, and graduate students Assist with ordering of materials and supplies Assist with scheduling for Dr. Swanson Other duties as assigned (10%) Pursue independent research Generate research ideas and analyze data Prepare conference abstracts, conference presentations, and manuscript submissions Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials Required Qualifications: BA/BS in Psychology, Human Development, Cognitive or Affective Neuroscience, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and research experience totaling at least 4 years. Ability to work on-site at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB). Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Prior research experience in a research lab. Prior experience collecting MRI and/or EEG data. Prior experience working with infants and/or young children in a research context. Prior experience with data entry, management and reporting tools. Excellent verbal communication skills. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail to work independently and assure accuracy. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to improve performance by analysis of data, tracking progress and making work adjustments when needed.
