Summary
The Li laboratory at the Life Sciences Institute is looking for a highly motivated and organized person with a background in molecular biology, neurobiology, or physiology to join our team as a research laboratory technician. The Li Lab employs state-of-the-art research approaches to conduct systems and behavioral neuroscience research to investigate neural control mechanisms of breathing and how it fails in pathological conditions in mouse models. You will report directly to Dr. Li.

Responsibilities*
Experimental job duties will include:
Mouse colony maintenance and genotyping
Participate or lead an independent research project
Perform surgeries and behavioral assays on mice
Conduct immunofluorescence and confocal imaging
Non-experimental job duties will include:
Help maintain protocol and documentsRequired Qualifications*
Six months prior laboratory experience
Six months in basic molecular biology (e.g., DNA gel electrophoresis and DNA purification)
Work collaboratively
Two-year commitment
Desired Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree (or expected graduate in Spring 2024) in Biology or related majors (e.g., Neuroscience, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry)
Six months experience in the following: Rodent surgeries (e.g., stereotaxic injection); Rodent behavioral essays; Mouse perfusion and tissue harvest; Cryosectioning; Immunofluorescence and Confocal imaging
