JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Dr. Lam\'s laboratory is broadlyinterested in small molecule tool development along with the use ofthese tools and in vivo imaging to interrogate biological processes inhealth and disease. . The lab is looking for a motivated ResearchAssociate to provide high-level technical and managerial support for labresearch. Under minimal direction from the PI, the successful candidatefor this position will carry out experimental design for sponsoredresearch projects, including compilation and analysis of data generated,in addition to training, mentoring, and supervising laboratory staff.Primary Functions * Design and perform lab procedures and experimentswith minimal supervision. * Manage and operate lab equipment. * Trainnew employees in lab procedures. * Participate in meetings withprinciple investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret thevalidity of data, develop methodologies, evaluate lab procedures. *Retrieve information from library and computerized databases; assist inpreparation of manuscripts and presentations. * Introduce newtechniques in lab. * Maintain supplies, may negotiate with vendors,track purchase orders. * Maintain equipment, perform/supervise repairsand update computer hardware and software. Preferred Schedule: PositionRequirements: Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Knowledge of biology,chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management. Datautilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resourcemanagement, and writing skills.
