The University of Chicago's Department of Radiology is searching for aResearch Assistant Professor or Research Associate Professor to join thenuclear medicine and molecular imaging instrumentation laboratory in theMolecular Imaging and Theranostics (MIT) group.
The MIT group has a long history of developing novel imaginginstruments and devices. The appointee will initially conduct academicresearch in collaboration with a faculty member or team, participatingin one or more of the ongoing research projects on PET, SPECT and/ormulti-modality imaging systems, but will be expected, over time, todevelop their own independent research agenda and grant portfolio.Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must have: 1) adoctoral degree or equivalent in physical sciences, engineering, orrelated field and 2) completed postdoctoral training.
We especially welcome applicants with expertise and experience inradiation detection technologies, PET and/or SPECT instrumentation, aswell as related physics and computing methodologies, and image-guidedtherapy applications. Assessment of applications will considerpublication record, experience with collaborative research, trackrecord, and potential to obtain extramural funding.
