Job Description Summary
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan Technological University (MTU) invites applications for a non-tenure-track Research Assistant Professor position beginning February 2023. Applicants for the position is required to have experience in point-of-care testing sensors with an emphasis on research in electrochemical sensors, microfabrication, wearable sensors, and BioMEMS. Successful applicants must be able to start working at MTU as early as February 2024 but no later than March 2024

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
• Coordinating a research project on microelectronics, microfabrication, point-of-care testing sensors, and electrochemical sensors
• Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students individually and as a team
• Working with the supervisor in efforts to write grant proposals
• Setting up a research laboratory
• Integrate safety practices into daily activities and commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work.
Required Education, Certifications, Licensures (minimum requirements)
• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
• M.S. in Electrical Engineering
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering
Required Experience (minimum requirements)
• Minimum 4 years of postdoctoral associate experience
• Experience and a strong interest in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
• Vast experience in engineering research resulting in scholarly publications
Desirable Education and/or Experience
• Teaching experience of a microfabrication course at college-level
• Advising experience of multiple Ph.D. and MS students
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)
• An ability to design and fabricate analog and digital circuits, electrochemical sensors, point-of-care testing sensors, and microfluidic devices and systems
• Strong knowledge of electrochemical systems and biomedical sensors
• Experience in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
An ability to write research proposals to federal agencies
