We use a variety of in vivo and in vitro approaches including fly and mouse genetics, molecular, biochemical and imaging techniques. We are looking for a Research Assistant to assist with several tasks, including but not limited to basic molecular genetics, cell biology (PCR, histology, etc.), preparing solutions, and laboratory setup maintenance. Additional duties of the RA I will include mouse colony maintenance, fly stock maintenance, microscopy and carrying out assays to functionally assess sleep behavior of genetically manipulated flies. This person will spend 90% of his/her time working on a scientific project, and 10% of the time on lab maintenance. The person will get a great training in research, both scientific thinking and experimental designs and skills.
