Duties and Responsibilities
General Duties and Responsibilities
● Develop and oversee research, program evaluation, and development activities
● Work closely with the Founding Dean and the Associate Director of Research and Evaluation to conceptualize, design, lead, and support the implementation of research studies that generate evidence and align with IRJ’s Logic Model
● Work closely with the Associate Director of Research and Evaluation to define, refine, and implement key strategies across projects in the service of advancing IRJ annual goals, strategic plan, and operational excellence
● Demonstrate commitments to rigorous, ethical, responsible, and consistent research practices across all IRJ projects
● Collaborate with team members to publish in peer-reviewed journals and other non-academic outlets (e.g., blog posts, policy briefs, etc.) and present at key convenings
● Provide strategic and technical support to other projects’ research activities
● Assists in managing other administrative activities associated with research projects including personnel training and supervision, IRB submissions and adherence to applicable regulations or stipulations
● Assists in developing and submitting grant proposals, and advises Principal Investigator of changes in reporting requirements.
● Communicate effectively with program faculty, staff, students, community partners, and other key stakeholders
● Contribute to other IRJ work strands and functional teams as needed (e.g., e.g., offering feedback on program development)
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
A Ph.D. in related field. Two years of related professional experience.
Qualifications
● Doctorate Degree required.
● Assessment and evaluation: Ability to design and lead research evaluation projects.
● Data Analysis: ability to collect and analyze data that will inform research projects and be reported to outside funders.
● Communication/Clarity: ability to develop a deep understanding of IRJ’s mission and projects, and to communicate this with research partners, funders, and faculty. Able to present data that enables clear understanding of interests and options for improved decision making.
