This manager will typically be assigned larger, more complex, customer accounts, as well as multiple accounts requiring junior level project management associates in support of successful execution. Responsibilities include customer coordination of design definition, value engineering, internal communication and coordination of manufacturing, delivery, installation and continued on-going customer service. The Account Executive will provide the leadership/coordination and staff management of all activities related to assigned projects while exercising every viable opportunity to procure additional business from assigned accountsTravel: up to 20%, remote and traveling. Can live anywhere in the United StatesPrinciple Duties and ResponsibilitiesGrow customer account value through strategic business planning and interface with management and sales as defined in the SAA.Acquired new account growth through excellence customer service and account executionDefine, build and train for staff excellence in the account teamProcure complete definition for each project and clearly define the customer's expectations to the support team at the divisionReview strategic Value Engineering opportunities with customer(s) for mutually beneficial cost savingsEnsure products are engineered to customer specificationDevelop or manage the development of a project time line for every project. Coordinate with Master Scheduler to develop "project launch cycle" and monitor progress and develop corrective actions where neededCoordinate with Purchasing Department to ensure on time/on budget material procurementParticipate in prototype development and review processMonitor production of product through both physical review of work in process and through review of labor and costing report data. Aid in development of corrective actions where needed Lead Gross Margin Improvement Initiative for related projects to drive cost savings, price increases, and value engineeringProvide shipping instructions including verification of site off load conditions where applicableFacilitate and assist in the completion of customer inventory reports and their reviewMonitor and manage customer inventory attempting to reduce risk of obsolescenceAs production capacity requires, facilitate outsourcing of production and servicesProvide technical back up to Sales and Estimating as requiredVisit manufacturing locations to review new products before primary manufacturing and shipments beginProvide monthly Sales Forecast for assigned customer(s), with assistance from Sales where applicablePerform post mortems on successful and unsuccessful projects to determine root cause issues and opportunities for future improvementManage cost of quality impact and established root cause for future COQ reductionQualifications15+ years' experience of Account Management in wood and/or metal manufacturing, consumer environments industry (retail store fixture) preferred10+ years' experience leading, managing and motivating a project management team within a large manufacturing companyMust have a proven ability to create and maintain spreadsheets utilizing MS Office Programs such as Work and ExcelAn understanding of ERP fundamentalsArchitectural/Interior Design technical knowledge expertiseMust be able to work independently while multi-taskingAbility to express oneself professionally utilizing both verbal and written communication
