Relief Water Treatment Operator/Helper - 106169

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Primary RoleAssists the maintenance person and Relief Plant Operator.

Key Accountabilities* Assists the maintenance person or performs the following duties: maintenance on motors, pumps, switch gear, chemical feed equipment, mixing and sedimentation basin equipment, filters, intakes, wells, valves, control/monitoring equipment, building, grounds, and other related equipment.* Operates water treatment facilities, pumping facilities and other related facilities.* Operates all pumps, motors, screens, switch gear, chemical feed equipment, settling tanks, control systems, laboratory equipment, and valves.* Makes water treatment control tests and calculations necessary to control the water treatment and pumpage of the facility.* Collects water samples per regulatory requirements.* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge/Skills* Must have a working knowledge of all tools used in maintaining all related plant equipment.* Since this classification also has operating duties, must have a working knowledge of chemistry, mathematics, and hydraulics.

Experience/Education* GED/High School Diploma.

Certifications Licenses* Valid driver license with the ability to pass a motor vehicle check.* DEP Class A Water license preferred. Will be required to obtain within 3 years of hire.

ScheduleWork schedule is Tuesday - Saturday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. When in Relief Operator role, will assume the Operator schedule.
