Job Posting Summary
Mercy University is inviting applications for the role of Registrar Enrollment Specialist who will report directly to the Associate Registrar and will support Registrar Office operations as they relate to student enrollment, course scheduling and degree attainment. This individual will be responsible for overseeing degree conferrals, processing student diploma and transcript requests, and facilitating the matriculation of special student populations. In addition to these responsibilities, the position will also serve the administrative and business processing needs of the Registrar's Office.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the degree conferral process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of degree audits
Communicate with students to offer guidance on meeting degree requirements for graduation
Coordinate the dissemination of degrees through Parchment
Order duplicate and never received diplomas
Order recent graduate diplomas
Respond to inquiries from student, faculty, and staff
Provide quality control, background research, and follow-up for students granted special exceptions
Facilitate and support student course registration process
Provide support for all academic processing that will include, but may not be limited to, attendance, grading, student grade changes, course scheduling building, etc.
Assist with the planning of Commencement and provide support the for the events
Process student diploma and transcript requests in accordance with institutional policies and regulations
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless enrollment processes for special student populations
Provide administrative and business processing support to the Registrar's Office as needed
Monitor budget an d expenditures, create purchase orders, submit invoices for processing and submit monthly credit card reconciliation including
Creating blanket Purchase Orders for the department
Vendor management
Writing, reviewing, managing outside contracts
Ordering supplies though vendors
Observance of FERPA guidelines in the handling of student information
Adherence to Mercy University administrative and business policies
Responsible for other projects, as may be assigned by the Associate Registrar or the Registrar
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
Prior experience in enrollment management or registrar services
Strong understanding of academic policies, regulations and FERPA rules
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and stakeholders
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
Physical/Other Requirements:
Must be able to push, pull, move, or lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per college policies
Must be able to work beyond normal working hours as needed. May require irregular work hours, such as evenings and/or weekends
Must be able to maintain an on-campus presence at Dobbs Ferry
Occasional travel to other campuses may be required (Bronx and Manhattan)
Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.

The Mercy University Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:
Deferred Compensation Plan
All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the University.
Defined Contribution Plan
Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.
If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources. The Defined Contribution will begin as of the first day of the month following receipt of the completed waiver form.
