Job Description:The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiverwho assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning,implementing and evaluating care of patients. The Clinic RN utilizes thenursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention,evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health teammembers in an outpatient clinic setting. Clinic RNs are pivotal members of thecare delivery team headed by the physician and have specialized knowledge,skills and ability pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs. Scope ofperformance includes prioritization and triage of care delivery,implementing established standing orders and protocols, performingprocedures and therapies consistent with training and licensure.
Scope
1.Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standardsandprocedures.2. Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.3. Obtains and documents health history, information on chief complaint,vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses disease condition.4. Provides patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care,and federal/state laws and regulations.5. Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administersprescribed medications, and monitor and document treatment progress andpatient response. Refer to/consult with physicians, other healthproviders, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.6. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance,and management of acute and chronic conditions.7. Documents patient assessment and intervention data using establishedmedical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.8. Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processesand outcomes.9. Tracks quality assurance data and monitor for acute and chronic caremanagement.10. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides byservice behavior standards.11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
RequiredGraduate of an accredited school of nursing is requiredCurrent/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board isrequired Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support(ACLS) is requiredOne (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursingsetting is required
PreferredBachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred
