　　Our interventional radiology department is a four-procedure room suite providing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for inpatient, outpatient and Emergency Department patients. Working with a team of medical imaging staff, we provide scheduled procedures Monday – Saturday and are available for emergent treatment on a 24-hour basis. Our highly trained nurses provide comprehensive interdisciplinary care for stable and critically ill patient populations from the time they arrive in the department until time of departure. The interventional radiology nurses provide care to patients in all medical imaging areas including diagnostic x-ray, nuclear medicine, MRI, ultrasound and CT scan.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Responsible for collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care with a team approach with Interventional Radiologists, vascular surgeons, and medical imaging staff.

　　Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring & evaluation of the patient's plan of care from arrival to transfer out of procedural area.

　　Monitor and assist with procedures, deliver care modalities including care of critically ill patients while in the lab.

　　Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills & the principles of case management & adult education to coordinate, implement & support the plan of care.

　　Ensure a seamless, effective, efficient transition of care across the continuum.

　　Respond to AMI calls in the ED and inpatient units.

　　Monitor quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.

　　Act as mentor, educator, consultant/collaborator, and navigator for students and new colleagues.

　　Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.

　　Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:

　　Current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of New York.

　　Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred, according to NYS requirements.

　　National certification preferred, along with 1-2 years acute cardiology or ICU experience.

　　Maintains education/certifications as required by department and regulatory agencies.

　　Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Completes all mandatory training.

　　Pay Range: $36.65- $56.95

　　Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
