American Lighting and Signalization (ALS) provides street lighting and traffic signalization construction, maintenance, and emergency response services in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. Our major customers include state departments of transportation (DOTs), investor-owned and municipal utilities, commercial retail land developments, and commercial road contractors.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Establishes work plans for large complex projects, arranges staff for each phase of the project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Develops/implements project plans/methodologies for large and complex projects; assists with coordination on multi-disciplined projects to improve communication collaboration and efficient execution.
Builds and maintains an effective operations organization committed to customer and employee satisfaction and profitable growth.
Builds relationships to ensure customer satisfaction of general contractors, mechanical contractors, subcontractors, and end users.
Provides technical and operational support for the sales teams including proper pricing and scope of work definition for project opportunities.
Plans, organizes, directs, and controls all operational activities to assure profitable growth.
Manages revenue, gross margin, and cash flow to achieve monthly and annual business plans.
Monitors project status and controls job costs to maintain margins.
Oversees the supervision of all installation and retrofit work and personnel to ensure work is done in a safe and professional manner.
Ensures schedules are maintained and projects proceed in accordance to contract documents and customer expectations.
Determines resource needs (e.g., staffing, tools) and provides any corresponding documentation.
Manages or advises on hiring, training and development, allocation, and performance assessment of personnel within area of responsibility.
Assists with training and development of operations personnel.
Engages other departments including sales, finance, procurement, and safety teams.
Ensures the proper implementation of all company policies and procedures.
Maintains current knowledge of regulatory laws, changes, and requirements and ensures compliance.
Advises and implements industry/field best practices to improve products and services.
Represents American Lighting and Signalization, Inc. in industry associations, professional organizations, and affiliations and develops relationships with customers, contractors, and community leaders.
The function or duties of the position include protecting and maintaining the privacy of employee personnel records, including compensation information.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a strong knowledge of field operations and have demonstrated leadership abilities.
Must be able to read engineering drawings and possess experience managing subcontractors.
Strong skills in Microsoft Projects, Excel, Office, and Access Database
Demonstrated understanding of financial reports and ability to implement cost controls.
Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills in English.
Must be able to handle conflict professionally.
Excellent organizational skills (must be able to handle multiple tasks and duties effectively).
Full Time / Minimum 40-hour per week position.
Education & Experience:
A College Degree in Business, Engineering, or technical field is preferred. Significant industry experience may be substituted for education.
Candidates should have at least 2 years of related experience with Department of Transportation projects.
