CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Support sites with data trends, strategic initiatives and learnings to drive “Five Zeroes” Safety Performance.
(Zero Injuries, Zero Spills, Zero Ignitions, Zero Notices of Violation, Zero Complaints from neighbors).
Coach, mentor and support site EHS Managers from OnBoarding through to competence development.
Monitor, drive and support effective Risk Reduction/Action Plan closure.
Coordinate approaches & practices between Regional and site EHS Managers to ensure consistency.
Ensure compliance with company, insurance and local Legislative EHS Standards.
Support sites with the Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems as required, ISO14001 and 18001.
Support EHS Audits, Corporate and external where required.
Ensure incidents are correctly reported and investigated.
Identify high potential incidents that may not be a CAT1 and leverage the learnings.
Create a collaborative EHS network, best practice identification, sharing, networking.
Identify ‘Talent’ and support progression.
Support development of, monitoring and progress of Critical Few and Tactical Plans.
Support the local management in using hierarchy of control measures to minimize exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, manual handling risks and other hazards
Ensure efficient EHS communication between and across the sites via EHS Committee Meetings, attendance and sharing information from EHS EMEAI meetings, SW EHS conferences, from EHS Alerts from other sites.
Promote safety messaging at the start of every meeting.
Promote a continually improving safety culture through the support and leading the EHS culture across site involving shop floor safety walk GEMBA with site management.
Identify with the sites, develop and facilitate appropriate safety, health and environmental training and refresher training.
Support the site in ensuring contingency plans are current. Provides out of hours emergency contact service. Ensures fire-fighting equipment is appropriately maintained.
Identify high RPN CAPEX projects and ensure CAREs and PFP are aligned.
Lead the security improvement plan with the sites via security operation, investigation to route cause for any security incidents and ensures timely action completion.
Support regional maintenance of CARES, valid Action Plans, SMART Action Plans, correct RPNs etc.
Provide additional support to other parts of the SW group when required. Any other duties as required by the EHS Director
