Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Promote, educate and recruit potential donor mothers through education of the public cord blood donation program to expectant mothers and participation in hospital programs directed towards pregnant mothers.
The Cord Blood Collection Coordinator's responsibilities are to assist with patient recruitment and obtain informed consent from the donating mother.
Assist Obstetric MD/DO/CNM in collecting umbilical cord blood units (CBU) during final phase of labor, obtain peripheral blood (PB) for infectious disease testing from the donating mother.
Accurately label the umbilical cord blood units (CBUs) after delivery from mothers choosing to donate to the public Cleveland Cord Blood Center.
Obtain medical and family history from the donating mother, assemble CBU, maternal PB samples, maternal history form to prepare these CBUs for courier transport to CCBC 25001 Emery Road, Warrensville Heights, OH 44128.
Orders and maintains equipment and supplies.MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree in health related field or business administration is preferred.
One year experience as a LPN ,Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant, or Certified phlebotomist required.
One year of administrative support experience and equivalent training preferred.
