Responsibilities Works under general supervision of the Leisure Activities Manager. Accompanies guests during tours. Gives detailed explanations and interpretations of tour features from the standpoint of historical development and historical background, introduction, and discussion of facts and features influencing present condition. Observes special or major interests demonstrated by tour groups or individuals; adapts discussion to meet the special interests, cultural and educational level of tour groups. Leads groups of visitors through historical sites and areas, gives explanation, identification and description of monuments, interpretation of German and especially Bavarian history. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must speak and write the English language sufficiently to communicate orally or in writing on matters pertaining to the assigned work. Spelling and grammar must be correct. A good working knowledge of the German language is highly desirable but not mandatory. Best Qualifying Criteria Experience in the travel industry as a trip leader or tour operator. Experience leading large groups. Experience in working independently.
