Come join our Centralia team as a Receiver!Job Overview:A receiver at UNFI responsible for having a strong understanding of the entire warehouse and receiving procedures. Also needs to understand the products, receiving procedures, and back stock put away procedures. A receiver is responsible for moving product off trucks, monitoring the quality of product, entering it into inventory, and properly putting product in its respective staging location.Essential Functions and Basic Duties:Checks with supervisors or leads at the beginning of the shift to discuss any issues or changes in the daily procedureVerifies quantities of product received against the packing slip/purchase orderChecks and reports any damage found due to refrigeration, travel or handling by inbound freight companyBuilds steady and secure pallets to be put into back stock reservesWraps pallets whenever necessaryEnsures that all labeling of product and pallets are accurate for put-away in proper pick slot or back stock locationKeeps area clean and debris out of work area; ensures a safe working environmentInspects assigned jack for safety issuesOperates all equipment in a safe and efficient mannerWears personal protective equipment as requiredReports to supervisor or lead any violation of company policyPerform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for locationPerformance Measurements:Receiver functions are completed in accordance with Company standards and procedures including quality standards and safety regulationsEffective communication and coordination exist with Company personnel and with managementAssistance and support are provided as neededDeadlines are metWhat we are looking for:At least six months of prior receiving experienceExperience in shipping/receiving is preferredMust have strong knowledge of all warehouse procedures and functionsBasic knowledge of purchasing, inventory procedures and policiesAbility to perform very basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two-digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations with money and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard, ounce, and poundMust be able to safely lift up to 75 pounds continuously as well as pick with a high degree of accuracy and efficiencyMust be able to work in a range of temperatures from -10 to 90+Experience in a large warehouse/distribution company preferredMust be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug screenAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
