We are seeking a manager to join the Modern Systems engineering unit at Sandia National Laboratories. Modern Systems is a multidisciplinary product development team that develops any-scale, high-rigor information & analysis systems for national security missions across the laboratory. We are looking for a new manager capable of bringing these systems development capabilities in software engineering and information technology to new and ongoing satellite data exploitation and communications missions.

High rigor 24/7 operational ground system (TAIV antennas)New R&D ground system entering opsPartnerships on AI and software engineering with Automatic Target Recognition (ATR)Future full-stack software work with our Livermore, California site

About Our Team:
Department 06364, Ground Station Development, Deployment and Data Analytics department is a multidisciplinary engineering team specializing in the capture, dissemination, and processing of satellite data for operational and experimental systems. We have a world-wide network of ground-based processing systems at our disposal and our on-site ground system is leveraged to test new research methods and products prior to customer delivery. Skills and responsibilities within the department include Radio Frequency (RF) engineering, antenna engineering, electronic and mechanical systems, software development - applications and infrastructure, data handling and analysis, device interfaces and control, computing infrastructure management and security, data visualization, and operational systems management.
Posting Duration:

Security Clearance:
