Job Qualifications
Demonstrated or building expertise (understanding of technical fundamentals/practical application) in their knowledge area via in-laboratory experimentation. Works in partnership with coach and manager to develop technical plans and strategies to meet summer project needs. Recognizes and finds creative solutions to technical roadblocks using technical training and understanding of product chemistry relevant to their area. Demonstrates ability to work across Disciplines/functions (i.e. partnership with product development teams).

We have an opening for an Associate Scientist Intern at our Mason, Ohio site to use state-of-the-art technology and deliver practical solutions to tough challenges across the Personal Health Care business—including project work in the following areas:
Growth and global expansion of P&G’s Dietary Supplement category as well as addressing challenges resulting from new/emerging regulations. This includes project work within brands like:
Voost
Nervive
Align
Metamucil
PureZzzs
End to end (from product concept through on-shelf lifecycle management) support of P&G’s drug product portfolio:
Pepto Bismol
Vicks
Crest
Rolaids
Stability science projects supporting one or multiple categories:
Respiratory (Cough, Cold, Flu)
Oral Care
Digestive Wellness
Vitamins, minerals, supplements
Sleep
Innovation of measurement strategies for raw materials made to develop and manufacture drug and supplement products. This work includes:
A broad range of instrumental analysis techniques, ranging from UV/Vis to DLS particle sizing to chromatographic techniques
Partnership with internal cross-functional project teams and contract manufacturers to troubleshoot and deliver new innovation
More specifically, the Intern will contribute to the development, validation and execution of test methods to deliver insights on product/process development and degradation mechanisms of key drugs, excipients, and dietary ingredients (i.e botanical materials). This may include but is not limited to creation of new data analysis/interpretation approaches in partnership with Company-wide colleagues and multifunctional R&D teams (e.g., toxicologists and formulators) for problem solving, as well as publishing and presenting findings of research.
The successful candidate should have some knowledge of analytical chemistry or a closely related field. Experience in developing GxP methods and developing FDA regulated products is a plus.
Other qualifications relevant for the position are: good collaboration skills, experience in establishing and maintaining working relationships and independent/agile learning with excellent organization skills.
This intern will report to the North America Personal Health Care Director who is based at the P&G Mason Business Center. Overall, you will be part of the Analytical Chemistry Department at this location. There is plenty of help, support, coaching and training available from colleagues, with formal training being tailored to your needs and interest.
