JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SPECIFICS Title: Radiological TechnologistFTE: Per Die, Schedule: Variable shifts Holiday Rotation: None WeekendRotation: None On Call Requirements: None POSITION SUMMARY The CertifiedRadiologic Technologist performs radiology procedures, including CTscans and/or mammography, at a technical level that does not requireconstant supervision but does require good judgment. Operates ionizingradiation equipment using ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribedprotocols related to radiology technology for the diagnosis of variousdiseases and injury. Assumes responsibility for coordinating procedures,quality assurance and record keeping as related to departmental policy,radiation safety and attending to the patient\'s needs. POSITIONTECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Receives, positions and attends topatients. Abstracts pertinent data from patient, family and/or patientrecord. 2. Performs all diagnostic radiology procedures, which mayinclude CT and/or mammography, properly sets technique and protocol tomaximize exam quality. 3. Performs EKG\'s and peripheral vascularstudies. 4. Understands the principles of radiation physics andmaintains both patient and operator safety. 5. Injects contrast mediaafter receiving proper instruction. 6. Keeps equipment in working order;recognizes equipment malfunction and reports appropriate information todepartment director. 7. Critique images to ensure quality examination issubmitted for interpretation. 8. Verifies images to ensure timelyinterpretation of examination. 9. Assists with file room duties. 10.Maintain strict patient confidentiality. 11. Completes post procedurerequirements and enters necessary data in Hospital information system.12. Maintains required CEU\'s. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education:Required: Diploma from a two-year program in Science of RadiographicTechnology from an accredited technical college or hospital-basedprogram Preferred: None Experience: Required: None Preferred: 1-2 yearsof previous Radiology experience Licenses and Registrations: Required:State of Wisconsin licensure to provide medical radiographic servicesPreferred: None Certification(s): Required: American Registry ofRadiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiology (R); Basic Life Support (BLS)required within 90 days of hire.
