　　Primary Function: Steel inspection and preparation of quality documents. Assist with ironworking and shop duties if quality control is slow.

　　Prepare and submit quality plans to customersPerform inspections on fabricated steel, welds, and steel erections at job sites and in fabrication shop, and write quality control reportsReview and manage material test reports to ensure material grade is per specificationFile as-built drawingsReview shop drawings to design drawing to be sure they match before submitting to the customer or engineerReview specifications for details of material to match design/drawingsMay perform field sketches from field verificationsManage, complete and submit grating inspections with customersBackup weld instructor for steel welding classesAudit steel shop fire extinguishers for complianceInspect rigging equipmentAudit tools and equipmentPreventative maintenance on steel shop machineryMake deliveries to field sitesPickup miscellaneous materials from vendorsFabricate and weld in steel shopInventory materialsRegular in-person attendance required; may work remotely if governmentally mandatesOther miscellaneous duties as assigned by immediate supervisorEducation and/or Experience

　　Minimum of 3 years quality inspection experience, 5+ preferred.CWI/CASI preferred3 years structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erectionAWS D1.1, ASW D1.2, AWS D1.3 and AWS D1.6 knowledge preferredAISC and RCSC knowledge preferredKnowledge and experience with writing welding procedures a plusCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsJourneyman Ironworker

　　Work Environment:The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.Must use safety equipment (PPE) where warranted. The noise level in the office is quiet and at job sites it is usually loud.
