JOB REQUIREMENTS: Scope: This description establishes the dutiesrequired to effectively perform the duties of the Quality Inspector.This is a guideline, and not an all-encompassing description. Purpose:The purpose of this description is to define the reporting, authority,duties, activities, organizational, and external relationships of theQuality Inspector. Reporting To: Quality & Continuous ImprovementManager or Inspection Supervisor Position Summary: Responsible forinspecting all company-produced parts, supplied product, and completingrequired certifications and paperwork. Principal Duties andResponsibilities: 1. Verifies quality, quantity, and inspects materials,products, and work in progress for conformance to specifications.2.Tests and measures finished products, components, or assemblies forfunctioning, operation, accuracy, or assembly to verify adherence tofunctional specifications. 3. Marks items for acceptance or rejection,records test results and inspection data, and compares findings withspecifications to ensure conformance to standards. 4. Completes requiredpaperwork and certificate of conformance. 5. Packages parts perspecifications. 6. Files all inspection reports and materials inappropriate place. 7. Performs shop floor product audits, castinginspections, tooling verification, receive inspects, final inspects, andin-process audits of products. 8. Perform purge inspects for productwith returned material authorization. Additional Duties,Responsibilities, and Activities: 1. Provides assistance to otherfunctions within the Quality Department, when needed. 2. Other duties asmay be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.Education/Experience: Six months to one year of experience in inspectionor related field preferred. Direct Reports: None Work Relationships:Works very closely with manufacturing supervisors and employees. Hasoccasional contact with other co-workers. Working Conditions: Work isperformed largely in a manufacturing environment with minimal chance forpersonal injury. Frequent mental and visual concentration for computerusage and calculations. Work hours are normally during regular businesshours and average at least 40 weekly, occasional unscheduled overtimemay be required Physical Requirements: May need to bend, stoop, and liftto move materials and retrieve files. Spends prolonged periods of timesitting and walking to inspect and prepare reports. Some exposure tonoise on shop floor. Required to use calibration equipment and tools.Excellent vision is critical to this position. May be required to liftup to 10 pounds; occasionally up to 30 pounds with assistance.
