  Northrop Grumman is seeking a Quality Inspector 2/3 to join our Defense Systems sector. This position will be in Madison, Alabama and support the Huntsville Manufacturing Center within Combat Systems and Mission readiness division.

  Roles and Responsibilities:

  Inspects, verifies and validates parts and assemblies of mechanical, electrical, structural components or systems meet engineering and program requirements.

  Visually and physically inspects installations and rechecks work after rework, adjustment or repair.

  Monitors and verifies that product quality is in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and other control procedures.

  Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.

  Basic understanding of AS9102 First Inspection Report, generating FAI package for external customers.

  Maintains necessary inspection documentation, writes inspection reports, and enters inspection data and defect information into a computer database.

  Frequently interfaces with internal teams across the organization and external customers and contacts.

  Participates in team activities and provides expertise and guidance for effective problem-resolution.

  Audits processes and activities in accordance with documented procedures.

  Basic Qualifications Quality Inspector 2:

  Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience in the inspection of one or more areas: electrical, mechanical fabricated parts, or cables and assemblies.

  Experience with and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.

  Experience maintaining necessary inspection documentation, writing inspection reports, and entering inspection data and defect information into a computer database.

  Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions timely and with a high degree of quality.

  Computer experience (MS Office/Excel).

  US citizenship, Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

  Must be able to work on-site in Madison, AL

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Dimensional Receiving Inspection of machined parts.

  Soldering and Electrical Assembly Inspection.

  Board Assembly Inspection with capabilities of some repair work.

  Mechanical Assembly Inspection

  Basic Qualifications Quality Inspector 3:

  Must have a High School Diploma with 4 years of related work experience in the inspection of one or more areas: electrical, mechanical fabricated parts, or cables and assemblies.

  Experience with and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.

  Experience maintaining necessary inspection documentation, writing inspection reports, and entering inspection data and defect information into a computer database.

  Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions timely and with a high degree of quality.

  Computer experience (MS Office/Excel).

  US citizenship, Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

  Salary Range: $46,400 - $77,300

  Salary Range 2: $55,100 - $91,900

  The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
