Parker Meggitt Simi Valley Fire, Safety, and Power Division site is a fully integrated location with product responsibility from Marketing and Engineering, through Supplier Management, Program Management, and Manufacturing ending with delivery to the customers.
Parker Meggitt is a worldwide leader in multiple Commercial and Military Aerospace product lines including Fire and Smoke Detection and Extinguishing systems, Bleed Air Overheat detection systems, Actuators, Rudder Pedal Assemblies, Pumps, Fuel Gauging Systems, High-Temperature cables, and more.
Parker Meggitt – Simi Valley, CA is also a key supplier to select Energy markets including Nuclear gas Analyzers and Nuclear containment vessel penetration Cables. We work directly with the largest global aerospace companies including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Lockheed Martin and many others.
Position Summary:
Parker Aerospace Group (Fire, Safety, and Power Division) in Simi Valley, CA, is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to join our high-performance engineering team.
The Quality Engineering Manager would lead the Quality Engineering Team and direct the team objectives while aligning tasks with company policies and procedures.
Oversees the quality engineering tasks to enhance product quality and to ensure high reliability and proper performance per product requirements. Participates in decision-making that will have a significant impact on product quality.
Responsibilities:
Leads and directs the Quality Engineering team; ensuring that products or components meet design and reliability requirements
Directs Quality Engineering activities and implements policies and procedures to meet business requirements
Establishes crisis resolution procedures to ensure continuous flow of product
Oversees Quality audits on various processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Utilizes expertise and teams knowledge to drive improvements and best practices
Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
Other responsibilities as assigned
The primary duties of this job require management of business or department, supervising 2 or more full time employees (or equivalent).
Responsibilities include hiring and firing subordinate employees (or effectively recommending such decisions), interviewing, selecting, and training employees; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; directing employees’ work; maintaining production records for use in supervision; appraising employees’ productivity and efficiency for recommending promotions or other changes in status.
Handling employee complaints and grievances.
Disciplining employees; assigning work among employees; and providing for the safety and security of the employees.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in quality or engineering is required) | Master’s or MBA is preferred
Experience: 10+ years' experience in quality engineering related disciplines and 5 years of supervisory experience preferred
Skills:
Strong ability to lead, plan and direct the Quality Engineering Team
Demonstrated engineering expertise, and ability to improve products or services by applying professional and business knowledge.
Experienced with making technical and managerial decisions which will have significant effect on products.
Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
Solid analytical skills and judgment to proactively identify and solve increasingly complex problems
Demonstrated use of the latest technology to enhance the growth of an organization
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $113,579 - $198,823
